Summary
The French Bulldog is a companion breed whose modern form was developed in Paris in the 1880s. Its compact, sturdy build and even temperament helped it move from working-class neighbourhoods into city homes and popular culture. French Bulldogs are sociable, lively, and playful, and they often enjoy short games and close company. Their short coat needs little trimming, though regular care keeps skin folds clean.
